Born and
raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Roger received
his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from
Ball State University. In 1969, Roger became
a member of the Sea Chanters and Commodores
of the U.S. Navy Band. After leaving the service,
he was choral director and music department
chairman at Sherwood High School in Sandy
Springs, Maryland, from 1973 to 1979.
Prior to joining the Alexandria Singers as
music director in 1978, Roger performed with
the Paul Hill Chorale for several years and
served as rehearsal conductor. In addition,
Roger spent two years as music program specialist
for jazz, choruses, and several other categories
at the National Endowment for the Arts.
Roger has been Choral Director at Yorktown
High School in Arlington, Virginia, since
1996 and served as department chairman from
1998 to 2002. In 1999, he received his Masters
Degree in Musicology from the Catholic University
of America in Washington, D.C.
Roger is a member of the Music Educators National
Conference, the American Choral Directors
Association, the International Association
of Jazz Educators, and serves as the Virginia
Senior Honors Choir Chairman for the Virginia
Music Educators Association.

A Newark,
New Jersey native, Les attended Montclair
State and Howard University, majoring in music
theory and music education. He performed at
the Burn Brae Dinner Theater; with the Arlington
Players; and served as music director for
A Little Bit of Sunshine.
He was a member of the Ad Hoc Singers, was
manager, arranger, and member of The Bel-Aires,
recording artists for Brut Records, and was
the arranger and an instrumentalist with Friends
and Brothers, a jazz quintet. Les has been
a private tutor and coach of fundamental jazz
theory for beginning vocalists and instrumentalists.
He co-founded the Communications Satellite
Corporation's Music Appreciation Club, an
organization offering music theory, basic
instruction in choral singing, and classes
for keyboard and stringed instruments.
Les is a founding member of the Alexandria
Singers and has had many roles in the group
including soloist, composer, board member,
arranger, and Assistant Music Director. |

A native
of Washington, Lisa returned to the area to
pursue her career as a pianist, bassoonist,
and director upon receiving her Bachelor's
degree in music performance from Oberlin Conservatory
and a Masters degree in the same from Boston
University. The range of her work has included
church positions, recitals, and choral ensemble
accompanying for such groups as the Springfield
Chorale, the Washington Women's Chorus and
the Metropolitan Chorus. She is also an accompanist
and actress with Interact Theater Company
having appeared in shows at Folger Theater,
Arena Stage, Metrostage and several special
performances for the Supreme Court.
As a bassoonist, she has played with various
ensembles in the Boston and Washington metro
areas including the Cantata Singers of Boston,
the Washington Bach Consort, and the U.S.
Army Band. Lisa also works extensively with
young people. Currently, she directs the Youth,
Children, and Handbell Choirs at Clarendon
United Methodist Church in Arlington, Virginia,
and directs various musical programs at the
National Cathedral School in Washington.
For five years, Lisa taught music and physical
education at Pinecrest School in Annandale,
Virginia. She is an active coach and adjudicator
and has worked with the Washington, D.C. Youth
Orchestra as well as area high schools. Lisa
joined the Alexandria Singers in October 2000. |

Raised
in Canada, Geri won that country's best juvenile
actress award at age 12 and made her first
movie at 16. A graduate of the American Academy
of Dramatic Arts in New York City, she has
starred on the Broadway and Off-Broadway stage,
in summer stock and in dinner theaters. She
also has been in several movies, TV shows,
and commercials.
Among her credits, Geri starred as Mame in
Mame, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Daisy Mae
in Li l Abner, Rose in Bye, Bye Birdie, and
Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Geri also was the choreographer and artistic
director for the Alexandria Harmonizers for
18 years, during which time they won four
International Gold medals as Barbershop Chorus
Champions.
Geri's work has been showcased in performances
at Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, during
four broadcasts of the Kennedy Center Honors,
the Wolf Trap Gala honoring Victor Borge on
his 80th birthday, and the PBS production
of A Gift of Music.
Currently, Geri teaches creative presentation
to choruses and other groups in major cities
and at universities in England, Europe, Canada,
and across the United States. She began working
with the Alexandria Singers in 1990. |
