Part of the fun of life ...

is ending up someplace unexpected. To become more comfortable with singing on stage, I joined Toastmasters, a public speaking organization. I didn't know that I'd fall in love with speaking, but that's what happened. Choosing interesting material, writing a cohesive story, and delivering a message powerfully are a few of the challenges that I enjoy about speaking to a group.

Although I started my journey at Reston-Herndon Toastmasters in Virginia, as a resident of Austin, Texas, I now hone my craft at Exchange Park Toastmasters, Round Rock Chambermasters, and Master Speakers of Austin.

"You Are Not a Tree"

Motivational speaker Jim Rohn used to say "If you don't like the way things are, change it! You're not a tree." which inspired my final speech at Reston-Herndon Toastmasters in October, 2014.

Limiting beliefs affect our lives in profound ways, often preventing us from living our fullest potential and from reaching our dreams. I explored this subject in a presentation at Exchange Park Toastmasters in Austin, Texas on May 13, 2015.
